AHPRA endorsed supervisors

Geelong Psychology Group have an extensive history of providing supervision across a number of settings which has included University placements, external agencies including metropolitan regional and rural settings and internally supporting their staff through the provision of supervision at no cost.  

We have a number of AHPRA endorsed supervisors who offer supervision for the following:

• To external registered psychologists for their continuing professional development
• To our internal colleagues for their continuing professional development
• Clinical psychology registrar endorsement program
• Provisional supervision towards registration

We are passionate about the provision of good supervision. We all benefit from collaborative supervision which aims to enhance our clinical skills and practice (e.g., formulation skills), keep us up-to-date with best evidence-based practice, to assist in identify blind spots in our skills, countertransference reactions and individual tendencies (e.g., going over time, worrying about distressing a client). Supervision is also helpful in supporting practitioners to manage ethical issues when they arise, and in enhancing reflective practice to better understand the client-therapist dynamic. Supervision also protects us from the potential for burnout.  Supervision also provides an opportunity for professional connection and collaboration.

Supervisory activities can include:

• structured discussions about caseload;
• assistance with particular tasks;
• performance reviews and monitoring;
• reflective practice;
• workload planning;
• debriefing discussions; and
• constructive feedback 

Individual supervision is available in-person in Geelong or Australia-wide via videoconference.
